Use Stitchtale responsibly and keep the quilt-making human.

These current terms set practical boundaries for using Stitchtale while the product is in development. They will be expanded before any public paid offer.

Using the service

Stitchtale provides tools for planning and exploring quilt projects. You are responsible for reviewing a pattern before cutting fabric, following safe sewing practices, and deciding whether a result is suitable for your own skill level and intended use.

Your uploads and rights

Upload only photos, artwork, patterns, and other material that you own or have permission to use. Do not use Stitchtale to copy, distribute, or sell another person's protected work. You remain responsible for the rights and permissions connected to what you upload and how you use a resulting quilt or pattern.

The quilt pictures on our shelf

Every picture of a Stitchtale quilt — the cover, the photograph, the pattern front — is made by us from that quilt's own plan, and it shows the quilt you would be making from it. It is not a photograph of somebody else's quilt and it is not a picture of a different design. Where a quilt is offered in more than one set of fabrics, the picture you are looking at is the set you are looking at.

Fabric links

When we name the fabric a quilt is drawn in, we link to a shop that carries it. Some of those links are affiliate links, which means Stitchtale may earn a commission if you buy through one. It never changes the price you pay, and it never decides which fabric a quilt is designed in — buy the cloth wherever you like.

Your fabric, your sewing, your quilt

We check every quilt on the shelf so that its pieces, sizes and steps add up, and we show you the plan before you cut. We can still make mistakes: a plan, a picture, a measurement or a step may be wrong, and we cannot promise that any quilt is free of errors. Use your own judgement as you go, and make a test block before you cut into good fabric. What you make is yours, and so is the making: your fabric, your cutting, your seams, your machine, and how the finished quilt turns out. Stitchtale is not responsible for fabric, thread, batting or other materials you buy or cut, for time spent, or for a quilt that does not come out the way you hoped — whether the cause was our mistake or the making — and we do not refund or replace materials. If you find a mistake in a plan, tell us and we will fix the plan.

Beta and availability

Features may change, be limited, or be unavailable while Stitchtale is in development. Beta access is optional and may have specific instructions, supported scope, and feedback expectations. We will state the exact offer and any refund terms before accepting payment for it.

Feedback

If you share feedback, you allow us to use it to improve Stitchtale without an obligation to compensate you. We will ask separately before using your name, image, quilt, or testimonial in public marketing.
