Your photos and project information are personal.

Information we handle

Depending on the features you use, Stitchtale may handle account details, photos or images you choose to upload, fabric and project information, and the pattern data generated for your account. Uploaded materials are intended for your own project workflow, not for public display by default.

How it is used

We use this information to operate the product: to authenticate you, store your private project materials, generate or display your pattern, and help diagnose reliability or support issues. We do not sell uploaded photos or project information. We do not use a customer's uploaded image in marketing without separate permission.

Access and sharing

Private storage and account access are designed to be limited to the account that owns them. We may use service providers to host and operate the product, but they receive only the information needed to provide that service. Do not upload images you do not have permission to use.

Analytics, cookies, and advertising technology

Stitchtale currently uses PostHog, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Meta Pixel, and Meta's Conversions API to understand how people find and use the site. Search Console is used for search-performance reporting. Pinterest Tag and Pinterest's server-side conversion API are not active. Our initial marketing is directed to the United States, so analytics runs by default unless you turn it off through Privacy choices. We honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. Before marketing in regions that require prior opt-in, we will add the appropriate regional controls.

PostHog may record the guide words you search for and the quilt dimensions you enter in a calculator. Those details help us improve the guides and calculations people actually need. On public marketing pages, including the homepage, newsletter, Learn, calculators, and other informational pages, Meta may receive the page address, an anonymous identifier, browser and network details, Meta browser cookies used for attribution and deduplication, and public events such as a newsletter signup, guide view, calculator view, or Learn search. We do not send uploaded photos, quilt-design files, private prompts, filenames, email addresses, or account secrets as analytics properties. Those materials can contain personal details or licensed pattern content and are not needed to understand whether the product works. Product analytics may record sanitized route categories and typed workflow actions on account, upload, editor, checkout, and private-project screens. Opaque project identifiers are removed from analytics paths. Clarity content is strictly masked on those screens, and advertising measurement receives public marketing events rather than private page views.

Our own quilt pictures, and where the fabric links go

Every picture of a Stitchtale quilt is made by us from that quilt's own plan and shows the quilt you would be making from it — it is not a photograph of anybody else's quilt, and no customer's uploaded photo is ever used to make one.

When we name the fabric a quilt is drawn in, we link to a shop that carries it. Some of those links are affiliate links, so Stitchtale may earn a commission if you buy through one. Following a link takes you to that shop, where their own privacy notice applies; we send nothing about you with it beyond what any link from one site to another carries.

Retention and deletion

We retain account and project information while it is needed to provide the service or meet legal and security obligations. A complete public self-service deletion flow is not yet available. Before public beta enrollment opens, this policy will state the retention period and the exact deletion-request process. If you need help now, use the details on our contact page.
